1£®On July 10, 2000, the new Zhengzhou
University was founded through the merger of three universities:
Zhengzhou University, Zhengzhou University of Technology and Henan
Medical University.
2£®On February 27, 2004, Henan Provincial People¡¯s Government and the
State Ministry of Education signed an agreement of co-building Zhengzhou
University.
3£®In November 2003£¬Wu Yangjie, a professor from Department of Chemistry
of ZZU,was elected academician of the Chinese Academy of Science, which
is a great breakthrough in Henan province.
4£®On July 9, 2004, the signing ceremony of cooperation between Beijing
University and Zhengzhou University was solemnly held in Beijing.
5£®At the 28 Olympic Games in Athens in 2004, Jia Zhanbo and Sun
Tiantian, two students from the College of Physical Education of
Zhengzhou University, won the championship respectively in men¡¯s rifle
competition and women¡¯s doubles tennis. On September 11, the two
champions returned to their Alma Mater, Zhengzhou University, to attend
a grand welcoming-home ceremony.
