ZZU Hosts the 6th International Symposium on Eco-translatology and the 2nd China Eco-translatology PhD Forum.

From October 26 to 28, the 6th International Symposium on Eco-translatology and the 2nd China Eco-translatology PhD Forum were held on main campus. Vice President Zhang Qianhong attended the conference, which was attended by renowned eco-translatologists from many countries and regions, as well as experts and scholars from Tsinghua University, Nanjing University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Shanghai Foreign Studies University, and other well-known domestic universities.

Zhang Qianhong delivered a speech. She said that ZZU, as the secretariat of the International Society for Eco-Translation Studies and the seat of the editorial board of the Society’s periodical, has provided strong support for the development of the international academic organization. She wished to take this seminar as an opportunity to further enhance the overall strength of ZZu’s foreign language and literature, and make positive contributions to the construction of a first-class university.

Speeches were also delivered by Prof. Hu Gengshen, Distinguished Professor of Zhengzhou University, founder and Research Chairman of International Eco-translatology, Prof. Cay Dollerup, Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the International Society of Eco-translatology, Copenhagen University, Denmark, Prof. Michael Cronin, Academician of the European Academy of Sciences, University of Dublin, Ireland, Prof. Christina Nord, representative of functional Translation Theory, University of Applied Science and Technology, Germany, and Prof. Rindon Kundu, University of Jaddap, India.

In the exchange time of the conference, the participants compared notes and discussed various topics such as translation, culture, education, literature, criticism, theoretical thinking and construction, taking “ecology” as the core and combining different cases, texts and examples.(translator Song Gencheng)
