The Second Meeting of the Second Council of Society of China Regional Universities and Colleges was held in Zhengzhou University on November 21. Some vice chairmen of the society attended the meeting, includingQu Lingbo, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Zhengzhou University, Wu Yaoting, Party Secretary of Hainan University, Li Siping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Beijing University of Technology, Vice President of Nanjing Normal University, Liu Chenghai, Vice President of Nanchang University, and Feng Jiaxun, Vice President of Guangxi University, together with other 70 members of the council. Wu Hongyang, Secretary General of the society and Vice President of Zhengzhou University, presided over the meeting.

On behalf of the society, Qu Lingbo delivered the 2020 work report and financial report. He summarized the society’s achievements in 2020 around inheriting history to stick to its academic intention, reforming to strengthen its organization, and envisaging the future to encourage its sustainable development. He also stated the society’s directions and priorities in 2021.

Wu Hongyang read The Implementation Scheme to Organize theCouncil of Society of China Regional Universities and Colleges and asked for deliberation and approval. He also introduced that the society would conduct the project on theoretical and practical issues of regional universities and colleges reform in addition to the first preparatory projects on the characteristic development of regional universities and on the transformation of regional universities.

Ye Guangliang, Vice President of Hainan University, delivered a speech on behalf of Hainan University that will organize the council in 2021.
