Recently, Peking University Library released the 2020 edition of A Guide to the Core Journal of China. Journal of Zhengzhou University Philosophy and Social Sciences Edition, Medical Edition, Science Edition and Engineering Edition were selected again. In the Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index (CSSCI) newly published by Institute for Chinese Social Sciences Research and Assessment of Nanjing University, the Journal of Zhengzhou University, Philosophy and Social Sciences Edition, was also selected again.

In addition, Energy & Environmental Materials (EEM), an English journal held by the university was selected in the core database of Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD) published by the National Science Library, Chinese Academy of Sciences after being included in the databases of SCIE、Scopus、EI. Furthermore, China Association for Science and Technology, Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China and Ministry of Science and Technology of the People´s Republic of China jointly released Grading Catalogue of China's High-quality Science and Technology Journals for the first time. EEM has become a comprehensive T1 journal of materials science, that is, it has approached or reached the international top level, and has become the first journal of Zhengzhou University to be among the top journals. Another English Journal, Journal of Partial Differential Equations, was selected into T3 area, which is recognized as a high level journal in the field of mathematics.
