Recently, Li Fuguang's research team at the College of Agriculture, Zhengzhou University, investigated the role of histone deacetylation inhibitor Tricostatin A (TSA) in fiber development through in vitro culture of ovules and transcriptomic sequencing, and revealed the molecular mechanism of histone deacetylation in mediating fiber initiation. The results were published in the international scientific journalCell & Biosciencewith a paper titled“Transcriptomic analysis reveals the key role of histone deacetylation via mediating different phytohormone signalings in fiber initiation of cotton”.

Wei Zhenzhen, a PhD student at Zhengzhou University, and Li Yonghui, a research assistant at the China Cotton Research Institute, are the co-first authors of the paper, and Xing Yadi, a postdoctoral fellow at Zhengzhou University, and Li Fuguang, a researcher, are co-corresponding authors. The School of Agriculture of Zhengzhou University is the first unit.
