On August 6, school leaders Song Zenghui, Gu Zhenqing, Xu Dongsheng, Guan Shaokang, Wu Hongyang, and Dong Zigang took time to visit alumni in Guangdong and have a discussion with alumni representatives while attending a seminar for school-level leading cadres in Guangzhou.

Representatives of alumni Guo Yukun, Geng Qingshan, Zhou Yun, Liu Jinbao, Wang Dongcai, Liu Chenguang, Zhang Rong, Zhang Lin, Wu Wei, and responsible comrades of the Party Committee Office, Presidentˊs Office, and International Liaison Office attended the forum, which was presided over by Guan Shaokang, member of the standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice president of the school.

At the seminar, all alumni actively put forward suggestions for the construction of the first-class university of alma mater, focusing on interdisciplinary communication, driving of advantageous disciplines, integration of big data resources, transformation of scientific research achievements, and alumni association work, etc.

Song Zhenghui delivered a speech. On behalf of ZZU, he expressed his sympathy to the vast number of alumni in Guangdong and introduced the construction of the first-class university. He pointed out that alumni work is very important to the construction and development of the school, and the relationship between alma mater and alumni is thicker than water and sharing the wind and rain. He fully affirmed the positive contributions made by alumni in Guangdong to his alma mater’s reputation and local construction. He hoped that all of them would continue to work with his alma mater to gather wisdom and creaｔe a first-class school, so as to show ZZUer’s achievements and contribute to the economic and social development and national rejuvenation.
