Recently, Academician Liu Jiongtian, president of ZZU, led a delegation to USA and Canada on educational exchanges.
At the University of California, Los Angeles, Liu and his entourage visited the Institute of Technology, the School of Business, the School of continuing Education, and the Department of East Asian Archaeology to exchange views on the construction of the UCLA Global Learning Center (Henan). Both sides have reached a consensus on the joint development of engineering master programs and postgraduate qualification program in business.
At the University of California, Riverside, Chancellor Kim Wilcox and Kelechi A. Kalu Vice Provost of International Affairs met with the delegation. The two sides held talks on relevant matters and signed an agreement on inter-university cooperation.
In New York, the delegation met with Yang Jun, Education Counsellor of the Chinese Consulate General in New York, Ma Hongbao, Secretary General of the North American Alumni Association of ZZU, Prof. Dong Zigang, Assistant to USN President, and representatives of some scholars and alumni in the United States.
At the University of Western Ontario in Canada, Liu and his entourage met with Andy Hrymak, Provost & vice president of the university, Prof. Zhu Jingxu and Prof. Zheng Ying, academicians of the Canadian Academy of Engineering. The two sides conducted extensive communication and in-depth discussions on related issues, and agreed to sign an agreement on inter-university cooperation as soon as possible. After the meeting, Liu and his entourage visited The Institute for Chemicals and Fuels from native Resources, ICFAR of UWO.
During his visit to Canada, Liu and his entourage also visited the Hospital of Toronto University to exchange views on the management and operation mechanism of “university-affiliated hospital”. He visited Prof. Huang Gan, a special expert of ZZU, and ZZU representatives of graduate students studying for a doctorate in Canada. (translator Song Gencheng)
