From July 25 to 28, Academician Liu Jiongtian, vice chairman of Henan Provincial Political Consultative Conference and president of ZZU, led a delegation to Hong Kong for educational exchanges.
At the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Liu held talks with Prof. Huo Taihui, Vice President of CUHK, Emeritus Professor Mai Songwei, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences,etc., and exchanged views on communication between teachers and students, scientific research cooperation, and joint training of students. At Hong Kong Ta Kung Wen Wei Media Group, Liu met with Jiang Zaizhong, chairman of the group, and Li Dahong, vice chairman and editor-in-chief of the group.
The founding assembly of the Hong Kong Alumni Association of ZZU was held on July 27, and Liu Jiongtian addressed the meeting. He hoped that everyone would jointly take care of the growth of alumni associations, build bridges for exchanges and cooperation between alma mater and alumni, alumni and alumni, and build alumni associations into a community of culture, affection and undertaking between alumni and alma mater, thus making due contributions to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and to the prosperity and stability of Hong Kong.
During his stay in Hong Kong, Liu Jiongtian and his entourage also visited Tan Tienu, deputy director of the Liaison Office of the Central people’s Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative region, and met with Wang Feng, alumnus of ZZU, chief expert of the head Office of the Bank of Communications, and president of the Hong Kong Branch and visited Beijing-Hong Kong academic Exchange Center and Joint Publishing (Group) Co., Ltd.
