On July 27, the inaugural meeting of Hong Kong Alumni Association of ZZU was held in Hong Kong. Academician Liu Jiongtian, President of ZZU, vice chairman of Henan CPPCC, attended the meeting.

The meeting reviewed and approved the Hong Kong Alumni Association Charter of ZZU and elected the first council, appointing Hu Baosen, Zhang Jingguo and Wang Feng as honorary presidents, Wang Zhenmin, Guo Yonghong and Chen Jinyun as consultants, and Cheng Chuan’ge as president of the association.

Liu Jiongtian introduced the construction and development of ZZU in recent years. He noted that alumni is a valuable asset of the school and an important support for the first-class construction of the school. He wished that a bridge is to built between the alma mater and alumni, alumni and alumni, turning the alumni association into a cultural, emotional and welfare community of alumni and alma mater, so as to make due contributions to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and to the prosperity and stability of Hong Kong.

Zhang Zongming, deputy inspector of the Department of Education of Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, expected the masses of alumni in Hong Kong to take the opportunity of establishing the Alumni Association and actively participate in the construction and development of Hong Kong.

Hu Baosen, chairman of the Board of Directors of Jianye Holdings Co., Ltd. and alumnus of 1976 class sent a video greeting. Zhang Jingguo, chairman of the Board of Directors of Zensun Enterprises Limited. and alumnus of 1979 class, called on the alumni in Hong Kong to help build the first-class alma mater university. Prof. Wang Zhenmin of Law School, Tsinghua University and alumnus of 1985 class, sent a message to alumni in Hong Kong to promote exchanges and cooperation between Henan and Hong Kong, between alumni and alma mater. Cheng Chuan’ge, Deputy Chief eｘecutive Officer and eｘecutive Director of Bank of Communications International Holdings Co., Ltd., President of Hong Kong Alumni Association and alumnus of 1983 class, said that they will earnestly perform their duties, unite the alumni in Hong Kong, and build Hong Kong Alumni Association well.

Liu Jiongtian unveiled the nameplate for the Hong Kong Alumni Association, and presented the enamel “three-legged tripod” as a gift on behalf of ZZU.
