Recently, the 19th International Conference on II-VI Compounds and Related Materials, sponsored by Committee on Luminescence,Chinese Physical Society, hosted by ZZU and the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was held in Zhengzhou.

The meeting was chaired by Academician Chu Junhao of the Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Fan Xiwu, Research Fellow of the Changchun Institute of Optical Technology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences. More than 150 delegates from 13 countries or regions including China, the United States, Japan, France, Poland, Russia, and Mexico attended the meeting.

At the opening ceremony, Research Fellow Shen Dezhen, Chairman of Committee on Luminescence,Chinese Physical Society, and Chairman of the Program Committee of the meeting, and Wu Hongyang, Member of the Standing Committee and Vice President of ZZU, delivered speeches respectively.

A total of 20 invited reports, 36 oral reports and 59 conference posters were arranged for the meeting. The participants conducted extensive discussions and exchanges on their respective research fields.
