On April 7, Jan Franço, the president of the International Korfball Federation （IKF）, signed a new appointment letter of the Coach Education Committee. Ma Xiangcheng, the deputy secretary-general of the Asian korfball Federation and the director of the Technical Committee of the Chinese Korfball Association, the head coach of China National Korfball Team, and a professor of the School of Physical Education of ZZU （school headquarters）, became a member of the Coach Education Committee of the International Korfball Federation and began serving for 2-years term.

As one of the important organizations of IKF, Coach Education Committee is mainly aimed at helping countries all over the world to improve the professional ability and level of international coaches, which plays an important role in promoting the international Korfball competition. Prof. Ma is currently the only Henan sportsman who takes the office in international sports organization.

At present, Chinaˊs korfball sports is developing rapidly, having fast improved competitiveness, ranking the fourth in the world, which has been recognized worldwide. Prof. Ma led the national team to great achievements in international competitions, and was awarded as ”National Excellent Coach” and ”Outstanding Contributor in the Tenth Anniversary of China Korfball Development”, and hailed as ”the father of China Korfball”. As the ”spokesperson” for the Chinese korfball, Prof. Ma’s new appointment from IKF will further improve ZZU korfball discipline and competitive level, and enhance the international influence of ZZU, which also has a very positive significance for the development of China’s korfball.
