Recently, the first International Aluminum Industry Summit Forum, co-sponsored by Zhengzhou University, University of Auckland, China University of Mining and Technology, China Aluminum Industry Zhengzhou Light Metal Research Institute,etc, was held at ZZU main campus. He Jilin, President of the Assembly and Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), Academicians of CAE Wang Yide, Qiu Guanzhou and Xie Jianxin, Professor Barry Welch of University of Auckland, New Zealand, and Academician Liu Jiongtian, President of ZZU, attended the opening ceremony. Experts from University of Auckland, China University of Mining and Technology and China Aluminum Industry Zhengzhou Light Metal Research Institute and representatives of teachers and students attended. The opening ceremony was hosted by Vice President Guan Shaokang.
Liu Jiongtian delivered a welcome speech. He believes that the in-depth exchanges and discussions with experts at the forum will surely make new and greater contributions to the implementation of the green development concept, the sustainable and healthy development of the aluminum industry and the construction of a non-ferrous metal power.
Academician He Jilin reviewed the 80-year development history of the aluminum industry in his speech. He hopes that the experts and scholars attending the conference will jointly promote the innovation and development of Chinaˊs aluminum industry.
Liu Wei, Director of the Science and Technology Department of Chinalco Group, and Mark Dorreen, President of the Light Metal Research Center of University of Auckland, respectively delivered speeches as representatives of domestic and foreign guests.
Academician Qiu Guanzhou and Professor Barry Welch made speeches at the forum.
