The School of Public Health Holds Forum on Innovation and Development to Mark Two Anniversaries

Recently, the School of Public Health (SPH) held Innovation and Development Forum to mark the 40th anniversary of establishment of SPH and the Alumni Association Inauguraton and the 90th anniversary of Public Health and Preventive Medicine. Attending the forum were Academician Chen Junshi, General Adviser of the National Food Safety Risk Assessment Center, University leaders Niu Shucheng and Guan Shaokang, the former senior leaders of Henan Medical University, and some invited experts for the forum.

Niu Shucheng, Secretary of the Party Committee of ZZU, delivered a speech. He hoped that the SPH will take the opportunity of holding this Forum to further strengthen its confidence in development, rally all development forces, create a new situation for its development, and contribute to the construction of first-class ZZU, wishing that the masses of SPH alumni could, as always, pay close attention to, and support the development of their alma mater and contribute to the construction of first-class ZZU.

The meeting read out a letter of ZZU leadership which approved the establishment of the Alumni Association of SPH, ZZU, and elected Duan Guangcai as the alumnus president of the SPH. Guan Shaokang,Vice President of ZZU, awarded the flag and issued the letter of appointment for Duan Guangcai. Du Bailian, the former president of Henan Medical University, and Wu Yiming, a senior professor, Guan Shaokang and Duan Guangcai jointly unveiled the nameplate for the SPH Alumni Association of ZZU. During the Forum, a ceremony was also held to donate alumni scholarships offered by grade 1988 and to present flowers to honor the representatives of retired senior leaders and professors of SPH. Speeches were respectively made by the representatives of the retired leadership and professors, the alumni and the young teachers from SPH.

Subsequently, Academician Chen Junshi, Prof. Ye Dongqing, executive Vice President of the Clinical Medical College of Anhui Medical University, and Prof. Dai Min as Union Scholar from the National Cancer Center (Cancer Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences) made special reports on the issues of the academic frontier .
