From December16 to 22, at the invitation of Taiwan’s Mingchuan University, Chengchi University, Soochow University, Tsinghua University, Donghua University, and Taiwan University, Academician Liu Jiongtian, president of ZZU, led a delegation to visit Taiwan, with the participation of chiefs of the relevant units of ZZU.

At Mingchuan University, Liu Jiongtian held talks with President Li Quan and Vice President Wang Jinlong of the university. Liu introduced the progress in the construction of first-class ZZU, and delivered a keynote speech on “how to run China’s largest University.”

At Taiwan Chengchi University, Liu held talks with Guo Mingzheng, President of the university. The two sides held in-depth talks on teacher-student exchanges and scientific research cooperation, and signed cooperation agreements. At Soochow University, Liu held talks with Pan Weida, president of Soochow University, exchanging views on further teacher-student exchanges and scientific research cooperation, and signed an agreement on teacher-student exchanges and cooperation. At Tsinghua University in Taiwan, Liu held talks with Vice President Chen Xinwen of the university, and the two sides exchanged views on boosting teacher-student exchanges and scientific research cooperation, and signed cooperation agreements and student exchange agreements. At Donghua University in Taiwan, Liu had in-depth communications with President Zhao Hanjie of the university on teacher-student exchanges and scientific research cooperation, and signed cooperation agreements. At Taiwan University, Liu Jiongtian held talks with Guo Dawei, the acting president of the university. The two sides exchanged views on academic exchanges, cooperation in the fields of medicine and agronomy, and exchanges between teachers and students, and reached a preliminary intention for cooperation.

During his stay in Taiwan, Liu Jiongtian also drｏpped in on more than 60 students, teachers, and visiting scholars from ZZU who are working and studying at Mingchuan University, Foguang University, Soochow University, and etc. （translator Song Gencheng）
