On April 27th, the Zhengshang Group donation ceremony was held at the main campus of Zhengzhou University. On the basis of the donation of 100 million yuan in 2018, Zhang Jingguo, 1979 alumnus of School of Physical Engineering, ZZU and chairman of Zhengshang Group, donated another 10 million yuan to help ZZU first-class university construction.

President Academician Liu Jiongtian gave a speech. He said that the charitable donation of Zhang Jingguo contains a deep affection for ZZU, fully demonstrating ZZUerˊs belief of ”seeking truth, taking responsibility”, and highlighting the valuable quality of ”when drinking water, think of its source; stay true to the origin. The donation will encourage ZZU teachers and students to invest in first-class construction with more inspiring spirit. President Liu welcomes alumni to come back to ZZU and add new impetus to the first-class university construction through a variety of forms.

Zhang Jingguo said that Zhengzhou University, as a key university in Henan Province, shoulders the heavy responsibility of cultivating outstanding talents and promoting Henanˊs economic and social development. While contributing to the development of ZZU, Zhang will also influence and drive more alumni to return to ZZU and help the first-class university construction.

At the ceremony, Liu Jiongtian presented Zhang Jingguo with a souvenir of “seeking truth, taking responsibility”. On behalf of ZZU, Gu Zhenqing accepted the donation from Zhang Jingguo and issued a donation certificate.（translator Yang Qiuqiu）
