ZZU Holds the 2018 Young Scholars International Forum’s Water Conservancy & Civil Engineering Sub-Forum

From September 21st to 23rd, the 2018 Zhengzhou University Young Scholars International Forum’s Water Conservancy & Civil Engineering Sub-Forum was held on the main campus. Vice President Zhao Minghao attended the meeting, joining 45 invited young scholars, chiefs of relevant units and of scientific research institutions, as well as teachers and students representatives.

Zhao introduced the relevant situation of ZZU and the disciplinary cluster of Engineering Safety and Disaster Prevention. He noted that young talents are the backbone of discipline construction, wishing that more outstanding young scholars could join Zhengzhou University and contribute to accelerating ZZU’s construction of first-class university.

Those respectively delivered a report to the conference and shared their research experience with young scholars were special guests of the forum, including Hu Shaowei, a winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, also a Changjiang Scholar Chair Professor of Ministry of Education, Professor-level senior engineer Yan Denghua of China National Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research, a winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and Prof. Lin Kairong of Sun Yat-Sen University, a winner of the National Outstanding Youth Science Foundation.

The forum set up three sub-meeting venues. The young scholars at the conference combined their own actualities, conducted in-depth exchanges on academic issues in related fields, and shared their own research results and experience.
