On May 21, Schwermann, Vice Dean of School of East Asia of Ruhr University of Bochum (RUB) and Director of Department of Chinese Language and Literature, and Van Veen, Director of Personnel and Legal Affairs Department, visited ZZU. Vice President Han Guohe met with the guests.

Vice President Han hoped that ZZU could enhance cooperation on Chinese language and characters with RUB and discussed the possibility of setting up Confucius Institute in RUB. He also wished that both sides could strengthen cooperation on joint training of postgraduates and exchanges and learning between teachers and students.

Schwermann said that ZZU has its owning Chinese civilization center standing a broad prospect in cooperation with RUB. Director Van Veen hoped that both sides could strengthen communication between management and carry out pragmatic cooperation on many levels.

In the afternoon, Schwermann gave a special lecture for teachers and students from School of Chinese Language & Literature of ZZU.(translator Song Gencheng)
