Recently, Pro. Jia Yu’s research group from International Joint Research Laboratory for Quantum Functional Materials of Henan, School of Physical Engineering of ZZU, jointly with Pro. Zhang Zhenyu’s research group from University of Science and Technology of China, scientists of research institutions from the University of Hong Kong, Han Yang University, the University of Utah and the University of London, made progress on the study of two-dimensional materials, which theoretically predicted the existence of tellurium ene, which is a two-dimensional mono-layer material composed of simple-substance elements in GROUP VI. This prediction has passed the preliminary test verification. The research fruit was published recently in Physical Review Letters online, a top physics journal, with Zhu Zhili, associate professor of School of Physical Engineering, doctoral candidate Cai Xiaolin, and Lecturer Niu Chunyao as main completers, and Pro. Jia and Pro. Zhang both as corresponding authors. The research was funded by National Program on Key Basic Research Project, National Natural Science Foundation of China and Science&Technology Innovation Foundation of Excellent Talents in Henan Province.(translator Song Gencheng)
