On October 19, Nobel Laureate, Pro. Jean-Marie Lehn of the University of Louis Pasteur in France visited ZZU and gave a report. Niu Shucheng, Qu Lingbo and Han Guohe of University leadership met with the guest.
Party Secretary Niu Shucheng noted chemistry’s importance as one of ZZU’s six key construction disciplines, hoping that Prof. Lehn, as the founder of super-molecule chemistry and the worldˊs top chemist, could provide more support and help for ZZU in the development of chemistry. ZZU expected to have more in-depth cooperation and contacts with Professor Ryan.
Prof. Lehn was all confidence in ZZU’s building a world-class university, and made some suggestions on ZZU’s future development. Secretary Niu awarded Professor Ryan a letter of appointment as ZZU’s guest professor.
After the meeting, Vice President Qu Lingbo chaired a report by Prof. Lehn in No.5 meeting room of the Integrated Management Center. Prof. Lehn, with vivid, simple but profound language and examples, based on his own study and inspiration about supramolecular chemistry, guided teachers and students to know the chemistry disciplines, encouraging students to explore the study and research of the chemistry with spirit of constant innovation.(translator Song Gencheng)
