On March 22, German Academy of Rock Engineering and Geographical Sciences Academician, Prof. Hou Zhengmeng from Clausthal University of Technology visited ZZU. President Liu met with the guests, joined by Vice President Han Guohe and other related chiefs of certain units.

President Liu expressed his appreciation for Prof. Hou’s efforts in promoting cooperation between ZZU and CUT, especially his strong support to cooperation program “Sino-Germany Excellent Engineers Class”, wishing on the basis of the existing undergraduate program cooperation, both sides could strengthen collaboration on the levels of master and doctor programs.

Prof. Hou introduced the progress made since two schools came into cooperation. Host and guest went into deep discussions on the issues like how to reinforce joint training of undergraduates, postgraduates and doctors, faculty exchanges and training as well as joint application for Sino-German Intergovernmental programs.

During the visit, Prof. Hou interviewed the candidates applying for master degree in CUI, delivering a special academic lecture for the students.

CUT has been one of German partners in program of “Sino-German Excellent Engineers Class”. Both universities have started cooperation as of March of 2016, and are currently working on a bachelor program of engineering major.(translator Song Gencheng)
