On March 17, Beijing greeted the High-level Seminar for Sino-UK Co-op Robot, Autonomous System, Electromechanical Integration and Automation and Its Manufacturing and Application Research in Agriculture, which was hosted by British Strathclyde University, co-organized by UK Embassy to Beijing, Foreign and Commonwealth Office of UK, UK Research Councils, Tsinghua University, China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, National Engineering Research Center for Information Technology in Agriculture, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory.

David H. Owens, Chair professor from ZZU’s control science and engineering disciplines, Academician of UK Royal Academy of Engineering was invited to the seminar. He made a theme report to the conference about the situation and tendencies of UK robots, autonomous system, and Electromechanical Integration and Automation, introducing to the participants the joint research between AI robot team of ZZU’s School of Electronic Engineering and research team from UK University of Southampton. Academician Owens’ report aroused so great concern from the participants that he established a series of co-op intents with several universities and research institutions. (translator Song Gencheng)
