Recently, Prof. Yanhu’s Research Team from School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering of ZZU made major progress in the field of Polymer Carbon Nanodots. The related result, entitled “Unique Piezochromic Carbon Dots with Two-photon Fluorescence” was edited on Angew.Chem. Int.Ed.and recommended for publication as hot paper, with ZZU as the first-author unit, Dr. Lu Siyu as the first author, Prof. Yanhu as the first-unit corresponding author. This paper is also the result of research in cooperation with Prof.Yang Bai etc, from Jilin University.

In recent years, as a type of fluorescent probe, Polymer Carbon Nanodots has received wide-spread concerns and made tremendous achievements. However, the two-photon fluorescent nature and fluorescent nature of Polymer Carbon Nanodots under high pressure have been in controversy. In this research, one-step method is adopted to prepare high-fluorescent quantum yield and yellow fluorescent polymer carbon nanodots, and ultra-fast spectrum technology used to explore in details its optical physical process and two-photon fluorescent nature. What is more, this polymer carbon nanodot has obvious piezallochromy fluorescent nature, which, via the first-principle computation, is acknowledged to be the result of hybrid phase transformation from Carbon sp2 to sp3.
