2017 “Young Sinologist Research Plan” (Zhengzhou) Opening Ceremony Kicked Off in ZZU

Sponsored by Ministry of Culture, jointly organized by its Sino-Foreign Cultural Exchanges Center and Henan Provincial Department of Culture, and ZZU,2017 “Young Sinologist Research Plan”(Zhengzhou) Opening Ceremony was held in ZZU on July 10. Present at the meeting were Liang Chuan, director of Division of Policy and Regulation, Foreign Culture Liaison Bureau, Li Rui, deputy director of Cultural Exchanges Center, Ministry of Culture, Kang Jie, Vice Director-General of Henan Department of Culture, Xing Ying, Deputy Party Secretary of ZZU and Vice President Han Guohe of ZZU.

Deputy Party Secretary Xing Ying noted in his address, as higher-level foreign exchanges of ZZU-2017-year arrangements, this meeting would provide a good opportunity for ZZU’s fulfilling the foreign exchanges goal of “the Thirteenth Five-year Plan “and replying to the development strategy of “One Belt, One Road”. ZZU will give a full play to its academic and faculty advantages in the field of the Humanities and Social Sciences, trying to implement “Research Plan” with variety, improving the reputation and popularity of ZZU in foreign cultural exchanges and international Chinese language education.

31 members of the“Young Sinologist Research Plan”(Zhengzhou) who came from 28 countries will, as arranged by sponsor, launch nearly 20-day research exchanges activities around the themes of history and culture of Central Plains and “Today and Yesterday” changes of ancient Capital Zhengzhou, under the background of “One Belt, One Road”. The research was to be conducted in the unified form of intensive teaching, professional research and field trip. According to the research plan, those young sinologists would compare notes and summarize about their fruits in China, and publish on the basis of compilation of all members’ research reports.(translator Song Gencheng)
