From August 18 to 19, sponsored by China Society of Press History, ZZU, jointly organized by School of Journalism and Communication, ZZU and Xinhua News Agency•ZZU Muqing Research Centre, 2017 Academic Annual Conference for China Society of Press History (CSPH)was held in Zhengzhou Yellow River Yingbin Grand Hotel. More than 1300 scholars and specialists from more than 100 universities and agencies, such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, Zhejiang University, Rennin University of China, Fudan University, Communication University of China, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Columbia University, and Chinese University of Hong Kong, etc.

Qin Shaode, counsel of CSPH, Chairman of Shanghai City Federation of Humanities and Social Sciences, the former Party Secretary of Fudan University, Tang Xujun, Member of Discipline of Journalism and Communication, the Office of Academic Degree of State Council, Director of Journalism Institute, China Academy of Social Sciences, Prof. Jiang Xiaoli of Sichuan University, Vice Chairman of Committee of Journalism and Communication, Ministry of Education, Prof. Cheng Manli from Peking University, honorary Chairman of CSPH, Prof. Chen Changfeng from Tsinghua University, President of CSPH, President Academician Liu Jiongtian, Deputy Party Secretary Li Xicheng, attended the opening ceremony, joined by nearly 100 internal and international famous or senior scholars or experts in the community of Journalism and Communication.

President Liu delivered a welcome speech, introducing the general situation of ZZU, and the remarkable achievements in many aspects made by School of Journalism and Communication. He believed, with the joint efforts of all the participants, this conference would play a bigger role in promoting the development of journalism and communication.

President Chen Changfeng noted, the theme of this conference was “global vision, Chinese system: studies of journalism and communication facing the future”, the forums were characterized by foresight, and practicality, global vision and Chinese characteristics, the issues put forward mutivariant, and the ideas of articles profound and unique, blessed with peculiar forms.

Lasting for two days, this conference consists of a theme forum, 18 branch forums, and 27 parallel sessions. The conference also witnessed an exhibition of education and research fruits of famous colleges and departments of journalism and communication, employment and awarding ceremony of CSPH, the awarding ceremony of the third session of Journalism and communication, the awarding ceremony of the first session of Excellent Articles Award of Journalism and Communication Journals, and the issuing ceremony of 2017 Year Book of China Journalism and Communication Education.(translator Song Gencheng)
