The People’s Publishing House announced the top ten outstanding academic works of Year 2015 in the past few days. The New Dimension of Jewish History Research, authored by Prof. Zhang Qianhong at Zhengzhou University, was selecｔed and ranked the second place.

The New Dimension of Jewish History Research conducts a comprehensive and in-depth study of the evolution of the Jewish history from such aspects as state form, historical concept and collective memory, etc. It relates to many critical issues such as “the limited monarchy” of Hebrew kingdom, the Jewish national authoritative view during diaspora, the rise of Jewish enlightenment and Judaism reform, nation-state construction of modern Israel, Israeli-Palestinian conflict and Post-Zionism, establishing a preliminary platform for promoting the further study of Jewish history. This work not only further develops and deepens the research on Jewish history as a discipline of world history in China, but also offers a good perspective in our understanding of modern Western civilization.
