From February 15 to 22, as invited, Vice President Han Guohe headed ZZU delegation, consisting of chiefs of certain related units, made a visit of educational exchanges to University of Victoria, Auckland University of New Zealand and Australian University of Wollongong, and signed a series of cooperation agreements on joint doctoral training and other affairs.
In University of Victoria, Vice President Han interviewed its Vice President Prof. Julia Jones, and Prof. Mike Wilson and other experts. Both sides signed an inter-university memorandum of cooperation, and our School of Information Engineering concluded an agreement of joint PhD training with its Faculty of Engineering.
In University of Auckland, Vice President Han interviewed related experts and scholars. Our School of Architecture signed an inter-school memorandum of cooperation and an agreement of joint PhD training with its School of Architecture and Planning, and our School of Foreign of concluded an agreement of joint PhD training with its School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
In University of Wollongong, Vice President Han’s delegation held talks with its Vice President Prof. Alex Frino etc. With regard to our construction plan for overseas Virtual Research Institute, Wollongong University agreed to provide favorable conditions for enrollment quotas, tuition waiver and training modes etc. Our School of Information Engineering signed an agreement of joint PhD training with its School of Electrical, Computer and Communications Engineering.
In Curtin University, Vice President Han met Prof. Seth Kunin, Vice President in charge of international exchanges etc. Both sides signed an inter-university memorandum of all-round cooperation, and our School of Public Administration reached intent of cooperation with its Sustainable Development Institute.
During this visit, Vice President Han’s delegation also talked with representatives from ZZU Alumni associations in New Zealand and Australia.(translator Song Gencheng)
