The Ninth CCF Conference on Natural Language Processing and Chinese Computing （NLPCC）, hosted by China Computer Federation （CCF） and organized by the School of Information Engineering of Zhengzhou University, was held in Zhengzhou. More than 600 experts and scholars from everywhere in the world attended the conference online or offline, among which over 400 presented on site. Prof. Wan Xiaojun, Secretary General of China Computer Federation Technical Committee on Natural Language Processing, presided over the opening ceremony.

Wang Zongmin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice-President of Zhengzhou University, delivered a welcome speech at the ceremony. He introduced the present development of Zhengzhou University, especially the construction and achievement in information subjects.

The thorough discussion on information extraction in natural language processing was conducted by Prof. Claire Cardie of Cornell University, Prof. Edward Grefenstette of University College London, and Prof. Danqi Chen of Princeton University, etc. At the conference, there were teaching report online, industry report, oral report branch, and technical seminar, etc.

At the closing ceremony, Prof. Hong Xuanjing, Deputy Director of China Computer Federation Technical Committee on Natural Language Processing, and Prof. Zhao Tiejun announced winners and presented trophy and award certificate together with Prof. Zhou Guodong, Director of China Computer Federation Technical Committee on Natural Language Processing, who made a concluding speech.
