2020 High-End Forum of National Cardiovascular Biomaterial and Interventional Medical Engineering Held in Zhengzhou University

Co-hosted by CSBM-CBB and IMES-CSBME, the 2020 High-end Forum of National Cardiovascular Biomaterial and Interventional Medicine Engineering was held recently in Zhengzhou University. As Chairman of CSBM-CBB, Guan Shaokan, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice-President of Zhengzhou University, chaired the opening ceremony. Attending the ceremony were Ge Junbo, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chief Physician in Zhongshan Hospital of Fudan University, Ma Changsheng, Director of Cardiology Center in Beijing Anzhen Hospital of Capital Medical University, and Liu Jiongtian, Vice Chairman of Henan CPPCC and President of Zhengzhou University, together with more than 80 experts and scholars from over 20 universities and hospitals at home and abroad.


In his speech, Liu Jiongting said that being a significant platform to promote the development of interventional medicine engineering and cardiovascular biomaterials, the forum could play a positive role in multiple disease treatments and higher level of people’s health. He also stated that exerting the advantage of multidiscipline integration, Zhengzhou University had enforced the cooperation between medicine and engineering to push forward medical technology. By holding the forum, Zhengzhou University will positively upgrade cultivation of innovative talents in interdisciplinarity and transformation of scientific research in addition to cooperation between medicine and engineering.


Ma Changsheng introduced the theme, mission and significance of the forum in his speech. More than 20 experts and scholars, including Academician Ge Junbo and Professor Xi Tingfei from Peking University, delivered keynote speeches about innovation of cardiovascular interventional equipment and new types of bionic artificial blood vessel. At the forum, there was discussion about some core issues, such as the development of cardiovascular biomaterial and interventional equipment, research of key technology and transformation of scientific research.
