On the evening of December 17, 10 innovative and selfless scientists and a team were awarded the title at the launch ceremony of "The Brightest Star – 2020 Henan Most Beautiful Science and Technology Workers". The scientists selected are Professor Wu Yangjie of the Chemistry School of ZZU, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chief Physician Zhang Guojun, director of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine of the First Affiliated Hospital of ZZU, and Chief Physician Chen Xiaobing, deputy director of the Internal Medicine of the Affiliated Tumor Hospital of ZZU. The team chosen is the Henan Fifth Batch of Medical Teams to Hubei Province which is formed by medical workers of the People's Hospital, Affiliated Children's Hospital, Zhengzhou Central Hospital of ZZU.

At the ceremony, Mu Weimin, member of PPC Standing Committee and secretary general, presented awards to the winning individuals and teams of "the Most Beautiful Science and Technology Workers". Xu Jichao, vice chairman of the PPC Standing Committee, Huo Jinhua, vice provincial governor, Gao Tijian, vice chairman of the provincial CPPCC and other officials attended the ceremony. Qu Lingbo, vice president and member of the Standing Committee of ZZU Party Committee, and personnel in charge of units concerned attended the ceremony on behalf of the university.
