On January 9, the licensing ceremony of the Sub-Center of the National Radiological and Therapeutic (Interventional) Clinical Medical Research Center was held at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University.

Academician Ge Junbo, Director of the National Research Centre for Radiology and Therapeutics, and Qian Juying, Executive Deputy Director of the Research Centre and Vice President of Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University, delivered speeches by video. Professor Yan Zhiping of Zhongshan Hospital of Fudan University and Deputy Director of the Research Center, Qu Lingbo, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Zhengzhou University, Liu Zhangsuo, Vice President of Zhengzhou University and President of the First Affiliated Hospital, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. More than 300 people attended the meeting, including members of the hospital team, heads of relevant departments and all medical and nursing staff of the Department of Radiological Interventions.

In his speech, Yan Zhiping hoped that with the platform of the national center, the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University would give full play to its advantages, accelerate clinical research innovation and make greater contribution to the goal of "Health China 2030".

Professor Ge Junbo fully affirmed the comprehensive strength, disciplinary influence and scientific innovation of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zheng University and the Department of Interventional Radiology, and hoped that the First Affiliated Hospital would raise the level of research on interventional therapy to a new level, create more new technologies, new concepts and new consensus, and provide better services to more patients.

Qu Lingbo expressed his hope that everyone should have strong faith, work hard, integrate the concept of science and medicine into clinical work, strengthen the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, improve the level of medical technology, and promote the construction and development of the discipline to a new level.

Liu zhangsuo expressed warm congratulations on the establishment of the sub-center. He hoped that the Department of interventional radiology would make full use of the national platform, lead the intervention team of the whole hospital to seize the opportunity, and continue to break new ground, write new chapters, and create new glories.

Professor Han Xinwei of the First Affiliated Hospital, a Zhongyuan  Scholar and member of the Academic Committee of the National Center for Clinical Medical Research in Radiation and Therapy (Interventional), systematically summarized the main achievements of the Department of Radiology and Interventional Medicine in research, teaching and medical treatment in 2020.

Leaders at the meeting jointly launched the sub-center. Yan Zhiping presented a plaque to Liu zhangsuo.
