On April 17, the inaugural meeting and the first member unit meeting of the " Henan University Maker’s Space Alliance" led and hosted by Zhengzhou University was held in Zhengzhou. Zhengzhou University was elected as the president unit. Yu Cangbi, Executive Director of the Secretariat of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Alliance of China, Jiang Nan, Deputy Secretary-General of the Secretariat of the Maker Space Alliance of China University, Chen Yanjun, Advisor for the dean of the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of Shandong University, Yang Xueyong, Director of the Science and Technology and Information Division of the Provincial Department of Education of Henan Province, Liu Yunxia, director of the Science and Technology Finance and Service Division of the Science and Technology Department of Henan province, and Qu Lingbo, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Zhengzhou University, attended the meeting. Nearly 150 innovation and entrepreneurship educators from 70 universities including Henan University and Henan University of Technology attended the meeting.

At the opening ceremony, Jiang Huaqin, secretary-general of the alliance, introduced the reasons for the establishment and preparatory work of the Henan University Maker’s space Alliance.

Jiang Nan congratulated on the successful convening of the inaugural meeting of the Henan University Maker’s Space Alliance, and hoped to uphold the concept of "Interconnection, Co-construction and Sharing" to realize the linkage of innovation between the two parties.

Qu Lingbo delivered a speach. He said that it is necessary to take the "14th Five-Year Plan" and the national development strategy as the guidance, shoulder the important task of talent training, cooperate with the power of various platforms to build a smart technology park, contribute to the construction of first-class universities, and add impetus to social development and national rejuvenation. Achievements tribute to the 100th anniversary of the party.

After the opening ceremony, Yu Cangbi made a special report titled "On Jointly Build Regional Featured Maker’s Space Alliances and Promote the High-quality Development of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education in Colleges and Universities", and Professor Chen Yanjun, Advisor for the dean of the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of Shandong University, made a keynote report titled "On Double Maker’s Space Building and Cultivation of the Ability of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in University.”

Afterwards, the delegates held group discussions on the current problems in the construction of collaborating space in colleges and universities and the alliance's work plan.
