Recently, the first International Smart Informatics and Multi-hazard Reduction (SIMR2024), co-sponsored by the School of Water Conservancy and Transportation of Zhengzhou University, Loughborough University in the UK, and Chengdu University of Technology, was successfully held at Loughborough University in the UK. Nick Jennings, President of Loughborough University, Cui Peng, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Director of the Key Laboratory of Mountain Hazards and Earth Surface Processes of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Liang Qiuhua, Distinguished Professor of Zhengzhou University, Xu Qiang, President of Chengdu University of Technology, Professor Guo Jinjun of the School of Water Conservancy and Transportation of Zhengzhou University, 192 representatives from 119 universities and scientific research institutions from more than 10 countries attended this meeting, 18 teachers and students from Zhengzhou University attended this meeting.
