Recently, in the issuing of Notification of the Publication of a List of World-class Universities and First-class Disciplines, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance and the National Development and Reform Commission jointly published the name-list of world first-class universities and first-class disciplines construction of universities as well as construction courses. Zhengzhou University is among the 42 top universities, which marks a historic breakthrough in the development of higher education of Henan province, and signifies a new chapter opened in the construction of a first-class university for ZZU.

Standing at a new historical starting point, ZZU will further carry out the spirit of series of speeches by General Secretary Xi Jinping, adhere to the direction of socialist school-running, insist on the Chinese characteristics and the world-class level, keep to running universities via grounding in Chinese land, fully implement CPCˊs educational policy, follow the laws of the development of higher education, Strive to implement the “three steps” of the first-class university development strategy, build a first-class university and form a comprehensive development layout by 2020 so as to complete the layout of first-class disciplines and construction system of research-oriented university governance. It will be the full development stage from 2020 to 2030, and by then we will have built ZZU into an internationally renowned comprehensive research university and strive to stand among the worldˊs top universities.
