Wang Jun, a Grade 80 Alumnus of ZZU, Elected Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering
On Nov. 22, 2019, the results of the election of academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of engineering were announced. Wang Jun, 80 grade alumnus of ZZU and director of thoracic surgery of Peking University People’s Hospital, was elected academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
Wang Jun, male, born in 1963 in Huaibin, Henan Province, graduated from Henan Medical University in 1985. At present, he is the director of thoracic surgery and minimally invasive thoracic surgery center of Peking University People’s Hospital, the chairman of living cardiothoracic surgery special committee of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, and vice chairman of endoscopic branch and thoracic surgery branch. Wang Jun took the lead in carrying out video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery in China, exploring the vast majority of Chinese methods of thoracoscopic surgery, and has been in the leading position in the number and difficulty of surgical cases. He has won the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress, Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award of Chinese Academy of Engineering and advanced individual award for Central Health Care Work.
