Recently, Associate Prof. Xu Mingliang’s research group from School of Information Engineering of Zhengzhou University, jointly working with Zhejiang University and American Huston University and etc., came up with synthetic geometry’s topological structure and a new approach to mechanical system complete three-dimensional modeling and made significant progress. The related result, a paper entitled “Interactive Mechanism Modeling from Multi-view Images” was published in Computer-discipline international journal ACM Transactions on Graphics, with Xu Mingliang and his doctoral candidate Li Mingyuan as co-first authors, with Zhengzhou University as the first unit. Based on multi-view image interaction, this result proposes an effective method of mechanic model’s three-dimensional modeling, which is expected to play an important role in the national key application areas, such as intelligent manufacturing, virtual reality and 3-D printing and reverse engineering and military equipment, etc. (translator Song Gencheng)
