Updated: June 13, 2017

On May 18, Nature Journal gave a long-text report of ZZU’s Yang Linlin’s share of research fruit in the Structure of the first full-length G-protein-coupled receptor and its activation control mechanism, with Yang Linlin being the co-first author, and ZZU the co-first author unit.

This research was the result of the joint work by ZZU’s Yang Linlin and Wu Beili, Wang Mingwei and Jiang Hualiang from Shanghai Institute of Medicine of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, who respectively headed a research group. It is the first time that the three-dimensional structure of full-length Glucagon receptor-GCGR has been measured, thus revealing the different structure of this receptor and its activation control mechanism. This result may help people to gain an insight into the relation between structure and function of the Super-family protein of GPCR and provide a new alternative for the development of new medicine to cure type 2 diabetes.(translator Song Gencheng)
