The Conference on International Friends and Eastern Diplomatic History was recently held at Zhengzhou University.
Hosted by Zhengzhou University and other colleges at ZZU, the conference attracted guests from over 10 countries including Russia, the United States, and Italy as well as experts from over 30 Chinese universities and research institutions such as the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Peking University.
Wang Haijie, vice-president of ZZU, welcomed participants on behalf of ZZU in his speech. He said that the in-depth integration of international friends and Eastern diplomacy at the symposium has made it an influential academic event in the field of history.
He emphasized that ZZU has always been committed to promoting the development of humanities and social sciences, especially the innovative development of history, international relations, and regional studies.
The School of History and the ASEAN Institute of ZZU focus on the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and the broader Eastern world, and have developed distinct characteristics in regional studies and cultural exchanges. He looks forward to more fruitful academic results through in-depth discussions by experts.
During the keynote speeches, participating professors discussed the deeds and ideological propositions of renowned international friends, their characteristic categories and spiritual essence, and the current status of research on international friends in the new era.
The sub-forums saw detailed discussions on themes such as international friends, Eastern diplomatic history, and exchange and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations.
