The Zhengzhou University Medical International Forum and the second China-Russia Medical Forum, hosted by the Henan Medical College of Zhengzhou University and organized by the Affiliated Infectious Diseases Hospital of Zhengzhou University, were both held recently.
More than 300 people, including leaders of various clinical medical colleges, affiliated hospitals, and medical-related colleges, as well as experts and scholars from domestic and foreign institutions, participated in the forum.
Dong Zigang, academic vice-president of ZZU and dean of Henan Medical College, said that ZZU's medical curriculum is the result of almost a century of development, achieving significant results in the cultivation of medical talent, medical scientific and technological innovation, and the improvement of medical service capabilities.
He emphasized that the university has consistently prioritized the development of medical disciplines, with seven medical-related fields ranking within the top 1 percent globally in ESI, and two disciplines ranking within the top thousandth.
The aim of the forum is to establish an open and shared platform to further deepen practical cooperation in talent cultivation, scientific research, clinical diagnosis, and treatment, as well as to enhance the internationalization of education. The forum also aims to create the "Zhengzhou Platform" for China-Russia medical cooperation, jointly addressing global health challenges and making greater contributions to building a global community of health for all.
During the forum, experts delivered multiple keynote speeches. Russian expert from Russian Academy of Engineering as well as Russian oncologist and transfusion expert shared insights and exchanged ideas on topics such as the diagnosis and treatment of cancer-related thrombosis, transfusion safety, and infection prevention research.
