Established in September 2019, the School of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence offers three undergraduate programs: Computer Science and Technology, Software Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence. Its computer science discipline is ranked in the top 1 percent worldwide according to ESI (Essential Science Indicators).

The school has been recognized with two national-level first-class courses and five at the provincial level in Henan.

The school has over 300 faculty and staff members, supporting a student population of 2,590 undergraduates, 937 master's students, and 118 doctoral candidates.

Emphasizing innovation and hands-on learning, the school hosts several student innovation platforms, including labs for intelligent robotics, ACM programming, and information security. Its students have won more than 300 provincial or higher-level awards annually in domestic and international competitions.

Research at the school has made impressive strides, with five national-level research platforms, including the National Supercomputing Center in Zhengzhou. In the past five years, the school has undertaken over 350 major research projects with research funding exceeding 220 million yuan ($30.67 million). These efforts have produced significant achievements with economic and social impact.

The school is also a leader in international cooperation. It is co-developing the China-Russia Supercomputing Research Institute and the Sino-Russian Advanced Digital Intelligence Institute with Lomonosov Moscow State University. It co-founded the Sino-Germany Institute, Zhengzhou University's sole institution dedicated to international exchange and talent training. The school has also established partnerships with the University of Cambridge and McGill University.

Strongly connected to industry, the school collaborates with leading enterprises such as Unicompute Technology and Weihua Group to establish R&D centers and labs. Its supercomputing resources support initiatives in smart city governance, environmental monitoring, and research across chemistry, materials, biology, and medicine.
