The School of Electrical and Information Engineering consists of six departments: Electrical Engineering, Automation, Biomedical Engineering, Electronic Information Engineering, Communication Engineering, and the Electrical & Electronics Experiment Center.
It offers six undergraduate programs: Electrical Engineering and Automation, Automation, Electronic Information Engineering, Communication Engineering, Rail Transit Signal and Control, and Biomedical Engineering. Among them, the first four are designated as national first-class programs.
The school has three first-level doctoral degree programs in Control Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Information and Communication Engineering, as well as corresponding postdoctoral research stations.
The school is home to a national research platform — the National Joint Research Center for Electronic Materials and Systems — and four provincial innovation teams in fields including neural information processing, industrial process optimization, smart power systems, and robotic perception.
It hosts 14 provincial-level research platforms, such as the Henan Key Laboratory for Brain Science and Brain-Computer Interface.
In recent years, the school has undertaken more than 140 national-level projects, including major national science and technology initiatives and National Natural Science Foundation grants.
With 219 faculty members, including 51 professors and 69 associate professors, the school currently enrolls over 3,200 full-time undergraduates and more than 870 graduate students. It has trained over 40,000 professionals who are now active in major State-owned enterprises, government agencies, research institutions, and the military, making significant contributions to national and regional development.
