The School of Management traces its origins back to 1981. Today, it offers a comprehensive and multi-level academic structure. It hosts one postdoctoral research station in Management Science and Engineering and two doctoral programs in Management Science and Engineering and Business Administration.
Master's programs include five academic tracks — Management Science and Engineering, Technological Economics and Management, Business Administration, Tourism Management, and Land Resource Management — as well as two professional master's degrees in Engineering Management (MEM) and Tourism Management (MTA). Notably, the MEM program holds the International Project Management Professional (IPMP) accreditation.
The school prioritizes undergraduate education. It offers seven undergraduate majors, four of which — E-commerce, Logistics Management, Industrial Engineering, and Tourism Management — are recognized as national first-class programs. Engineering Management and Marketing are listed as Henan provincial-level first-class programs.
Currently, the school has 110 doctoral students (including international students), over 900 master's students, and 1,452 undergraduates. It has also pioneered a dual-degree program for undergraduates university-wide, training nearly 10,000 students in Business Administration as a second major or minor.
Hands-on learning is a cornerstone of the curriculum. The school operates a range of advanced labs — including Industrial Engineering, Logistics Engineering, Simulation, E-sandbox, 3D Printing, and Tourism Planning labs — and has established training bases with over 20 well-known companies.
The school employs 148 faculty members, including 28 professors and 42 associate professors, with over 40 faculty members having international study or work experience. It also hosts nearly 50 adjunct professors and research supervisors from top global institutions and industries.
Research at the school is supported by seven provincial platforms, such as the Henan International Joint Laboratory for Intelligent Health Information Systems, and several applied research institutes and think tanks co-founded with government agencies. The school houses 10 internal research platforms dedicated to areas like smart healthcare systems, intelligent manufacturing, and cultural tourism in the Yellow River Basin.
Since 2016, the school has secured over 100 million yuan ($13.92 million) in research funding, published more than 500 academic papers indexed in SCI/SSCI/CSCD/CSSCI, and received over 100 invention patents and software copyrights.
Committed to internationalization, the school has over 120 international students and maintains close partnerships with top universities around the world. Collaborations include joint institutes, dual-degree programs, and research platforms with institutions such as Deakin University (Australia), University of Malaya (Malaysia), Inha University (South Korea), and National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts (France).
