Established in 1985, Zhengzhou University's School of Information Management has evolved from its origins as the library science department to become a pioneering institution in talent development in the field of information management.
The school currently offers undergraduate majors in library science, archives management, information management and information systems, and big data management and applications. It also hosts a master's program in information resource management and holds a doctoral program in information resource management, along with a postdoctoral research station.
With a faculty of 44 members, including 12 professors and 11 associate professors, the school prides itself on its diverse and accomplished teaching staff. Embracing the core values of the university, the school is dedicated to cultivating innovative and well-rounded professionals in the field of information management. Through a commitment to excellence in teaching and research, the school has secured numerous national and provincial research projects, showcasing its leadership in areas such as public culture, digitalization of cultural heritage, and data governance.
In recent years, the school has actively engaged with international academic communities as a core member of the iCaucus within the iSchools alliance. Through collaborations and exchanges with renowned experts from universities such as the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, it continues to enrich its academic environment and global perspectives.
With advanced facilities, including six laboratories in the information resource management teaching and research center, the school can provide hands-on learning experiences for over 160 students at the same time.
