Established in 1980, the School of Law is one of the oldest higher education institutions in China. Over the years, it has achieved significant milestones, including the establishment of the economic law program in 1985 and the accreditation as the first master's degree-granting institution in criminal law in Henan province in 1990.
As a key discipline in Henan province and a vital component of the national 211 project, the school holds the authority to grant doctoral and master's degrees in law and operates a postdoctoral research station. Additionally, it has been recognized as a national model for comprehensive professional reform and a training base for national intellectual property rights.
With a robust faculty comprising 103 members, the school boasts a distinguished roster of professors and associate professors, many of whom hold doctoral degrees and serve as doctoral supervisors. The faculty is actively engaged in research, securing numerous national and provincial research projects, publishing over 100 monographs, and producing more than 650 research papers in the past five years.
The school fosters a vibrant academic environment and actively engages in international exchanges. It has established academic partnerships with over 10 legal institutions in countries such as Russia, Germany, Australia, the United States, France, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. By hosting major academic conferences and inviting renowned experts to participate in academic exchanges, the school has enhanced its global academic influence.
