The Wellington Institute, approved by the Ministry of Education in April 2023, offers three undergraduate majors in architecture (five years), landscape architecture (four years), and industrial design (four years). It implements a dual-certificate joint training. Graduates will receive a graduation certificate and bachelor's degree certificate from Zhengzhou University and a bachelor's certificate from Victoria University of Wellington.
Administered by a joint management committee, with the presidents of both universities serving as its leading figures, the institute offers dedicated support services, including career counseling, foreign language courses, study-abroad opportunities, and other assistance for students. It aims to become a new hub for educational opening-up in Henan province, and a globally recognized center for training world-class talent in architecture design.

The teaching and research faculty of the institute are all recruited in accordance with the high-level talent standards of world-class universities, building a teaching team capable of meeting the demands of international education.
It has also established a teaching management and quality assurance system that meets international standards, ensuring comprehensive safeguards in areas such as academic administration, faculty recruitment, and performance evaluation.
In line with the educational objectives of Sino-foreign cooperative programs, the institute has developed a curriculum system that effectively integrates the academic resources of both Chinese and international partners. The specialized courses seamlessly align with those of overseas universities, enabling mutual credit recognition, fully preparing students for further studies abroad.
