Zhengzhou University (ZZU) co-hosted the 3rd Cross Strait and Hong Kong Macao Traditional Chinese Medicine Technology Innovation Conference and the 3rd Central Plains International Conference on Science and Technology Innovation of Traditional Chinese Medicine on Aug 13. The event was guided by the Henan Association for Science and Technology and organized by ZZU's School of Life Sciences.
The opening ceremony featured prominent figures such as Sun Dongxiao, an academician of the International Academy of Food Science and Technology, and Geoffrey Waterhouse, an academician of the Royal Academy of Sciences New Zealand. The conference attracted experts, scholars, students, and entrepreneurs from 13 countries and regions, as well as Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan.
In his address, Li Chengwei, secretary of the Party Committee of Zhengzhou University, expressed gratitude for the support offered by academicians and experts. He emphasized the Central Plains' rich ecological diversity and the integration of medicine and food, highlighting the area's potential in the health industry. Li noted the conference's role in fostering global perspectives on Chinese medical innovation and promoting the prosperity of the medicine-food industry.
With the theme "Exploring Frontiers in Intelligent Biomanufacturing and the Industrial Transformation of Chinese Medicine", the conference aligned with national strategies to develop new productive forces. Participants engaged in discussions on technological trends and interdisciplinary developments in Chinese medicine, sharing insights and exploring new opportunities and challenges facing the industry in the modern era. The event aimed to inject new momentum into the global advancement of Chinese culture and medicine.
