A delegation from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, visited Zhengzhou University (ZZU) on Sept 17.
The delegation was led by Logan Bannister, vice-chancellor of Victoria University of Wellington, accompanied by Amy Rutherford, director of the International Office, Robyn Phipps, dean of the Wellington Faculty of Architecture and Design Innovation, and Cao Juan, director of the China Business Department. They were warmly welcomed by Wang Haijie, vice-president of ZZU, along with representatives from the Office of International Affairs, the International College, and the Wellington Institute.
In his welcome address, Wang highlighted the achievements of ZZU in talent cultivation, scientific research, and global collaboration. He expressed gratitude for Victoria University of Wellington's support in organizing the New Zealand regional round of the China International College Students' Innovation Competition 2025. He acknowledged the university's strengths in architecture, industrial design, and linguistics, noting that this visit provided a platform for deeper dialogue between the two universities.
He emphasized the success of the Wellington Institute, established in April 2023, as a testament to the strong partnership between the two universities. Wang also expressed hope for further collaboration, including dual master's degree programs and joint doctoral training.
Logan thanked ZZU for the hospitality and recalled significant milestones in the partnership of both sides. She expressed optimism for future collaboration in student and faculty exchanges, joint research, and cultural initiatives, aiming to benefit both universities and invigorate China-New Zealand educational exchanges.
