A delegation of young international historians recently visited Zhengzhou University (ZZU). The group, consisting of 12 representatives from institutions such as Egypt's Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, University of Tarapaca in Chile, Columbia Southern University, Nepal Policy Institute, and the Chinese Academy of History, engaged in discussions with ZZU officials.

The meeting was attended by Han Guohe, deputy secretary of ZZU's Party Committee and chairman of the Trade Union of ZZU, along with representatives of the Office of International Affairs, the School of History, and the School of Archaeology and Cultural Heritage.

Han welcomed the delegation and provided an overview of ZZU's history, talent development, and international collaborations. He emphasized the potential for collaboration in historical research, archaeological excavation, and cultural heritage preservation between Henan and Egypt.

Han also noted that ZZU was among the first in China to establish an archaeology discipline, offering doctoral programs and postdoctoral opportunities and expressing hope that the visit would pave the way for future collaboration in academic exchanges and joint research initiatives.

Alaa Menshawy, director of the Luxor Museum in Egypt, praised the university's achievements and expressed interest in fostering academic exchange to advance mutual understanding and respect between civilizations.

The young historians showed keen interest in the cultural richness of the region and expressed eagerness to engage in collaborative projects.
