Professor Aiguo Patrick Hu, chairman of the New Zealand Chinese Scientists Association and a faculty member at the University of Auckland, visited Zhengzhou University (ZZU) on Oct 28. He was welcomed by Li Peng, president of ZZU, along with Shan Chongxin, vice-president of ZZU, and other key university officials from various departments.
Li expressed her excitement about the visit, highlighting the strong foundation and promising future for collaboration between ZZU and institutions in New Zealand and Australia. She emphasized the need to explore new models of cooperation focused on integrating industry and education, science and education, and universities and businesses.
Hu detailed the alliance's efforts and its role in fostering collaboration between Chinese and Australasian universities. By leveraging resources from numerous universities in New Zealand and Australia, the Alliance has facilitated exchanges and academic projects, expanding ZZU's international scientific network. He emphasized the importance of breaking down barriers between laboratories and industry to enhance research translation and support the university's "Double First-Class" initiative.
The discussions focused on building international platforms, research collaboration, talent development, and academic growth. Both parties committed to using the visit as a springboard for expanding cooperation, enhancing communication, and writing a new chapter in international collaboration.
