The closing ceremony of the winter camp on traditional culture for youth from Henan and Taiwan was held at Zhengzhou University (ZZU) on Jan 16. The event was attended by Yang Tianruo, vice-president for academic affairs at ZZU, faculty from Taiwan universities, and over 70 students from both sides of the Strait.
In his address, Yang congratulated the participants on the successful completion of the camp. He highlighted the Central Plains region as a cradle of Chinese civilization and expressed hope that the young attendees would become ambassadors of cultural exchange, using media as a bridge to deepen mutual understanding and friendship.
During the ceremony, students and teachers shared their reflections, emphasizing how the camp fostered stronger personal connections and a shared appreciation for cultural heritage through direct interaction and collaborative learning.
Organized by ZZU's Office of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs and hosted by the School of History, the eight-day program featured cultural visits, expert lectures, and group discussions.
The camp focused on culture and interaction, providing an immersive platform for young people to engage in traditional heritage. It served as a meaningful initiative to strengthen ties between the young people of Henan and Taiwan.
