Professor Li Peng, president of Zhengzhou University (ZZU), led a delegation to Hong Kong from April 23 to 24. The team visited the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Hong Kong SAR, as well as the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and the University of Hong Kong (HKU).
During the meeting with the Liaison Office, Li expressed gratitude for the office's long-term support and outlined ZZU's progress in discipline development and talent cultivation. The two sides agreed to enhance exchanges between Henan and Hong Kong in education, youth engagement, and cultural heritage.

At CUHK's Faculty of Medicine, Li discussed further collaboration with Professor Ma Qingyun, vice-dean of the Faculty of Medicine. Both sides recognized the strong foundation built under their existing agreement and explored new opportunities in student exchange, joint research, and faculty visits. The delegation also toured the university's Phase I Clinical Trial Centre.

The following day, the delegation visited HKU's Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine. Professor Chak-sing Lau, vice-president of HKU, shared recent developments and research highlights, including work on a state key laboratory, cancer medicine, and genomics-driven diagnosis of rare diseases. Li introduced ZZU's medical programs and extensive clinical resources, proposing deeper cooperation in medical education, talent cultivation, and translational research.

The visit marked a significant step toward building a collaborative platform between ZZU and top Hong Kong institutions, aiming to advance medical research and education for the benefit of public health.
